Life For A Senior
In Rob Carrick’s column this week I smiled as I read about his assessment of life for a senior if they decide to divorce. He makes reference to research from the 2022 Horizons Retirement Survey which shows that in 10 years there has not been a lot of progress in people’s financial literacy. In fact, it even mentions that fewer people are taking care of Wills and Powers of Attorney. People seem to be focused on lifestyle rather than their finances. This can be understood as we have just come through two years of chaos and there are some of us that came through the tumultuous time with more money, but a lot more have been using precious savings for ourselves and our children. The most critical comment made in the article on life for a senior was the fact that Carrick feels the worst financial mistake you can ever make is to get divorced later in life. Read on….
